Measurable sustainability, hectare by hectare

Committed to the environment and to rural development, with certifications to back it up.

01Key figures

Efficiency as the starting point

The SES Model in numbers: water, phytosanitary products and carbon.

Up to29%

more efficient water use per kilo of almonds produced.

Up to42%

fewer phytosanitary products than intensive almond farming.

Up to3.8 t

of CO2 per hectare: positive carbon balance in on-farm measurements.

02Environmental and social

04Circular economy

Circular economy: the almond hull

How we do it

A single process and a distinctive value

The Miajadas plant brings processing, hulling and shelling of the fruit together in a single process. This integrated process prevents the hull from being contaminated with impurities and makes it suitable for animal feed.

Process detail
01

Reception

In-shell almonds arrive at the plant.

02

Impurity removal

Impurities are removed.

03

Hulling

The hull is separated from the fruit.

04

Drying

05

Shelling

The shell is separated, leaving the kernel.

06

Storage

Stacked 700 kg bales of almond hull at the Miajadas plant
Format

Baled almond hull

Once separated and clean, the hull is compacted into bales to make it easier to transport.
